The DR-40X includes a pair of cardioid condenser microphones. These mics handle high SPLs and can be configured in AB or XY orientation for a wide stereo field or hyper-focused on a single sound source. Connect another mic or line-level source through dual Neutrik XLR/TRS combo jacks that support both mic level and +4 dBu line level from mixers or consoles. The mic preamps include 48V phantom power and plenty of gain to capture loud and quiet sounds with equal clarity. The DR-40X also offers dual-level recording which automatically creates a second file on a lower level—the perfect backup in case of distortion.
