Here is Heckelphone #4244. This is one of the 100 Original Heckelphones estimated to survive. Major orchestral works such as the Alpine Symphony and the operas Elektra and Salome have important parts for this instrument. They come up for sale very infrequently and are hunted to extinction.

This Heckelphone is in extraordinary condition. Keywork was rebuilt and modernized by Tom Hiniker in the early 2000s, and it has modern full conservatory keywork including an articulated F#-G# mechanism added by Tom Hiniker and an F resonance key added by Heckel circa 1960. An oboist will be able to play it without learning an older key system.

Wood is in exceptional condition and has been well cared for its entire life. Pads are in excellent condition and have just been serviced in our shop - this instrument is ready to play and a video of it being played can be found on YouTube.

This particular instrument was used in the MGM Studio Orchestra from 1962 through 1996, and can be heard in the soundtrack to Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus, as well as numerous other film scores.

Plays very well and is ready for Strauss. Includes three original Heckel bocals and two reeds.

Possibly the nicest Heckelphone in the world.
