Some of the most famous guitars and basses in rock n roll have been so called parts-casters so it's no surprise to find them out in the wild too. Everybody wants to build their dream guitar and who can blame them. This one has a cool vintage 70's Fender Jazz bass neck with pearl blocks and binding. Most importantly it is very straight and has had a recent professional re-fret so it plays fabulously. It has been mated to a modern alder MIJ Fender body in the very best custom-color Fender ever had, Candy Apple Red. Like any well loved instrument there are plenty of signs of use. The neck looks a little sun-baked or perhaps was exposed to really high humidity because some of the paint has flaked off but it isn't any worse for wear. The body is pretty clean but does have a few dings with the only one that is really noticeable being on the butt-end where you usually expect to find them. It has a real unique and cool vibe because finding a Candy Apple Red bass with a maple neck bound and blocked is quite the rare sighting. It delivers the signature J-Bass tone that has never gone out of style since it debuted 50+ years ago.
