This is a rare early heavy ride cymbal made by Istanbul, a cymbal company established in the early 1980s. This is a pre-split era signed by both Mehmet and Agop. It is 4,000 grams. In excellent condition, but does show signs of use. With light fingerprints and stick marks. The cymbals has had rivets added post purchase, which may be removed if you don't want the cymbal to sizzle. There is no warp, key hole or cracks. Overall in very good shape. The cymbal has largely been stored unused in my studio since I bought it in the 80s, so I'm hoping it will find a good home where it will get some proper use
Both AGOP and MEHMET's signatures are on the back, and the cymbal was produced in Istanbul by hand hammering.
It is a heavy 24" cymbal. It has the legitimate early Turkish cymbal sound, with a grainy yet deep harmonic overtone that can only be found in Istanbul. The rivets add an extra long sizzle to the sound.
