I first played a Fender Thineline Telecaster with Humbuckers back in 1979 when I had to send my new 1978 Les Paul Custom back to Kalamazoo for warranty work. I was playing with Wichita's top Country band led by Dwain Terry. Dwain's main guitar was a Gibson ES335 with a factory Bigsby which he offered for me to play while my LP was with Gibson. His backup was a 1972 Telecaster Thineline with Humbuckers which I played for a month and can testify that this MIJ model is in every way equal to the original 1972s.

I purchased this gorgeous Telecaster Thinline back in the 1990s from a young man who was selling it for the original owner. I was told that this guitar was an "artist's" guitar although he did not reveal the name of the artist.

I have always been impressed with how incredibly beautifully this guitar played and sounded. The action is low, fast, smooth----if you prefer a basball bat neck and high action.....this one is not for you.

Please look carefully at all pics, the pickups and finish are super reflective and tough to photograph.....I can find no flaws. The electronics work flawlessly and as a bonus, this super rare Tele will ship in it's highly sought after Fender Plus "Chainsaw" case. I previously thought that this gorgeous Crafted In Japan Tele thinline was older but accoprding to the serial number, it was built in the 1990s.
