Mosrite The Nokie 1992 - Blue sparkle

Serial nr: N91-XX although the original 500k volume and tone pots are dated to 1992 which makes it one of the very last Nokie models to come out of Jonas Ridge, NC before Semie moved operations to Booneville, AR that very same year. The signature at the back of the headstock has faded and can barely be seen unfortunately but it's there and is the usual: “Made in USA by Semie Moseley 1991”.
Maple-sandwich neck with 1 10/16" (41.4 mm) width at the zero fret, worth noting this guitar sports a 1/2-round string guide instead of the standard 1/4-round one which is very, very rare for the guitars of this era. Pretty much zero taper up until the 14th fret and a not too shallow “C” shaped neck with a 9.5” radius fretboard, the neck itself is typical of its era with a wider profile. It sports the “fretless-wonder” type (not too narrow) frets. Fully functioning truss-rod at the headstock.

Alder body on this guitar, of a slightly thinner profile which, considering many Nokie models of this era used basswood, makes it for a distinct sounding and feeling instrument, with plenty more midrange and sustain than the typical Mosrite.
Beautiful, sparkling blue nitro finish which looks even better in presence. It has a couple of small dings here and there otherwise it‘s in great shape. All original throughout apart of a new zero-fret for improved intonation and action across the board and brand new Kluson tuning keys, the original ones I felt were a bit on the loose side but they will be included in the OHSC complete with key which is also in great shape. Hot single coil pickups (they both read just above the 12 kOhm mark) with a special extra grounding wire going under the aluminium-taped pockets, one of those late ‘80’s, early ‘90’s design improvements from Semie to minimise feedback, pretty ingenious.
