This is an exact replacement pickguard we cut to order in our shop from a variety of materials specifically to fit the American Elite Jazz Bass.

We have several different tortoise materials and patterns ranging from "budget" printed pattern material to expensive all celluloid sheets. Due to supply issues you should always check to see if the tortoise you want is in stock before ordering.

TBP.  "Budget" brown tortoise. This is a printed pattern material with little visual depth, similar to the brown tortoise seen on many import guitars.
TEB.  All celluloid 4 ply brown tortoise, the most expensive material.
TRP.  A printed pattern 3 ply red tortoise with some visual depth that is more expensive.
TAB.  A thicker brown cast acrylic tortoise with a spotted "Dalmation" pattern that goes through the entire depth of the sheet.
TAG.  A thicker green cast acrylic tortoise with a spotted "Dalmation" pattern that goes through the entire depth of the sheet.
TAP.  A thicker pinkish/raspberry colored cast acrylic tortoise with a spotted "Dalmation" pattern that goes through the entire depth of the sheet.

Next are the black, white, and off-white colors. Our custom laminated 4 ply material is not available anywhere else. Single ply materials are usually cut with a non-beveled, straight edge for Fender style instruments or a roundover edge for Gibson style instruments. A 45 degree bevel is available on request.

M1. White single ply .090".
  M1a. White single ply thin .060"  cut with straight, seamed edge

  M2a. "Pinstripe" White 3 ply - custom color! The top white and black layers are much thinner and the third white layer is very thick.
M3. 4 Ply White, W/B/W/B - custom color! Similar to material used on vintage Japanese guitars.

M14. Black/Parchment/Black 3 ply Similar to an older material with a slightly aged center laminate
M15. "Aged" Black 3 ply, black/cream/black Similar to an older black guard where the white layer has yellowed
M16.  4 ply Black, B/W/B/W - custom color! Similar to material used on Japanese electrics of the 1960s and 70s.
M17. 5 Ply Black, the go-to for most Gibson electric pickguards
M18. 5 Ply Black/Cream/Black/Cream/Black  Looks like a 5 ply black where the white layers have yellowed

These are "plain" colors laminated on 3 ply white backing, unless otherwise specified

L1. Red 4 ply, a slightly more Fiesta Red color
L2. Red 3 ply with black center, Red/Black/Red
L3. Red 3 ply with white center, Red/White/Red
L4. Orange 4 ply
L5. Yellow 4 ply
