A historic violin most probably made by a member of the HOPF family who worked from Klingenthal, Germany. This instrument was built approximately around 1800 - 1820. The bottom of the fingerboard has a number stamped on it, possibly done by the Hill company in the past for registrational purpose.

It definitely belonged to a advanced violin player and the instrument was set-up by Dutch master luthier Max Möller in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It comes with a nice hard case which can be considered as vintage.

This listing includes:
• Violin hard case with original key included.
• A fine nickel mounted violin bow with real baleen (whale bone) winding.
• String tube.
• A fine quality ebony wooden chin rest.
• Wolff shoulder rest for 4/4 violins.
• Wittner Clarissima tuning fork in A (440 Hz).
• Protective cloth and cleaning cloth.
• A slightly used Pirastro Gold bow resin.
• A brand new set of Larsen Virtuoso violin strings (already set-up and ready to play).
• One Wittner fine tuner for the E string.

Sound
This instrument has a very powerful sound. It can be described as warm, but not too dark.
