As we keep selling these, I can drop the pricing until we reach our proper market point. So, just because you see the price drop, don't think your getting "less" or they are made overseas. I still will be building these from the same top quality materials right here in my Tennessee shop. Plus, I'm working toward buying a small CNC to help with the basic machining processes. The more we sell, the sooner the price can come down. Plus I'm avoiding all the pitfalls that have claimed companies like Blues Pearl, XITS amps, Fat Sound and MANY others. I've been in this business now for 45 years and I've weathered financial storms that have killed lesser men. Its better to start higher priced and come down to the right price, than start low, oversell and then discover can't produce and deliver the products.

New for 2023. Hard Road™ Guitars presents a limited run of 12 of a brand new model we call the

Rock Slide Lap Steel Guitar.

Built from seasoned 1 piece billets of Eastern Hard Rock Maple, and finished in a hand rubbed oil similar to those found on Tobias basses or Warrior instruments. We can also offer this same instrument in figured maples as well. Please feel free to inquire about this.

this little Lap Steel rings like a bell and is a designed to be similar to the old Harmony "Biscuit boards" of the mid 1950s, aka the1955-56 Harmony Consolectric Lap Steel

Several different pickups types can be offered, but the model shown was outfitted with a Gretsch Electromatic single coil which sounds just great. but I also like the sound of the Seymour Duncan Phat Cat as well.

the tuners are by Kluson.

the volume and tone controls are by Bournes and CTS with vintage styed Harmony Cupcake knobs,

Switchcraft jack and chrome plated steel jack plates. ( I will be moving the output jack to the side for all future models)

These Lap Steels were designed with road use in mind. and should easily become an heirloom quality instrument that should last more than 1 lifetime.

the body has been Laser engraved with all the artwork shown in our shop, and we can even offer you custom artwork on it as well. please note the name "Ashby" shown in the photos is a customer added touch. We can make one with YOUR name on it...literally!

these fine hand made Lap Steels will be built in our Tennessee shop and have a lead time of 90 days till delivery.
