Vintage 1966 Gibson ES-175D in stunning original RARE custom ordered Royal Olive finish!
We're thrilled to offer this amazing vintage ES175 with one of the coolest finishes we've ever laid eyes on! "Royal Olive" was a color more commonly used on the Gibson-made Epiphone guitars of the day. They would spray the back and sides of those guitars in this lovely shade of Olive and then do the tops in a nice olive-based sunburst. Whomever ordered this back in 1966 had to have requested Gibson finish the entire guitar in the single shade of Olive - and what a result! This 175 has been absolutely lovingly maintained and has a very recent fretjob. It plays incredibly well and looks stunnning!
The ES-175 is an absolutely iconic guitar capable of the warmest jazz tones imaginable but also feedback resistant enough to hang with the ES-335 in louder rock or blues settings. With Gibson now ceasing standard production of all archtop models (they are now available only as custom orders at a significant price increase) the values of these vintage examples have climbed steadily in recent years.
This guitar has several changed parts, but the most important factor - the old wood and the old finish - are incredibly well preserved. A great opportunity to get into some vintage golden age Gibson for the price of a new production model! Don't wait, only one available!
