DIGITECH IPS 33B GUITAR SUPER HARMONY MACHINE SIGNAL PROCESSOR 90's - Black

Used by many guitar players around the world most notably by David Gilmour and The Edge from U2. The Digitech IPS-33B is a 1U rack-mount multi-effects and pitch/harmony processor built by Digitech in the USA around 1990–1992. It was designed as a “Super Harmony Machine,” combining advanced digital pitch-shifting and harmony generation with modulation and time-based effects — long before most modern processors did this in one box.

Harmony & Pitch Tools

• Intelligent Harmony: Generates harmonies based on key/scale selection with chromatic and scale-corrected options, producing musically accurate intervals up to two octaves above or below the input.
• Chord Harmony: Choose a chord and a voicing; the unit tracks and produces three-part harmonies.
• Custom Harmony Programming: Create and store your own harmony setups.
• Pitch Correction: Real-time pitch snapping to nearest semitone, useful for vocals or tuner-style accuracy.
• Octave & Pitch Shifting: Includes pitch shift effects similar to the legendary Digitech Whammy, thanks to the same IVL processor chip used in the original WH-1 and WH-II pedals.

Modulation & Time-Based Effects

• Detune, vibrato, chorus, flange and other modulation effects add color and movement.
• Delay: Digital delays up to about 1.5 seconds per channel.

Performance & Control

• Stereo processing with independent left/right effects and panning.
• MIDI compatibility allows external control of presets, harmonies, key changes, etc.
• Expression control: Supports foot controllers to vary parameters like pitch bend, mix, delay, etc.
• Front-panel LCD and editable presets make programming more accessible than many rack units of its era.

Technical & Build Notes

• Built around a custom DSP using 24-bit internal processing with 16-bit PCM output, offering clean audio with a wide frequency response.
• Rugged rackmount chassis with MIDI IN/OUT, expression pedal input, footswitch support, and multiple audio I/O.
• Offers both factory presets and user-programmable memory for effects setups.

This rack unit has the same IVL Technologies chip that is in the original Whammy (WH-1) and II. All you need to do is add a variable control pedal (volume pedal).

Item condition is good. Unit is fully functional. Cosmetically has wear, scuffs and scratches from 30 years of use. Otherwise the unit is in excellent working condition.
