HHG drums 14x9 Reclaimed Douglas Fir Stave Snare Drum

This shell is handcrafted with integrity from the finest hand selected hardwoods. All HHG drums are built by a drummer for drummers. This snare has been in the works for awhile. It's made from reclaimed Douglas Fir crossarm braces from a telephone (utility) pole. It's a 14x8 stave shell, 7/8" thick. Die cast hoops, chrome over brass tube lugs, vintage style strainer, all flat black powder coated hardware, 30 strand wires, hand cut leather washers at all hardware attachment points and a special antique brass badge that is reserved for specialty/prototype snares. It sounds better than it looks, super fat, meaty, loud, all while retaining excellent sensitivity and response through all tuning ranges. Its a true monster.

Additionally, we included pictures of the second version of this drum. This version has all the same specs as the first one except for it is a 14 by 9 shell, and the weathered finish is broken up by a single stripe through the center of the drum that was left unaged. Also, this version includes oil rubbed bronze single point lugs.

As with all of our drums and listings shown, when you place an order with HHG Drums, your new instrument will be hand-crafted in house, from scratch. The drum shown in the pictures was built for a customer, and now resides with them.
