Style and Substance
Who says you can't have style and substance in the same package? The Taylor 214ce-RED DLX is proof that aesthetic beauty and sonic savagery are not mutually exclusive pursuits. The 214ce-RED DLX has a solid top made of Lutz spruce for maximum resonance and premium layered maple back and sides. Lutz spruce is an uncommon wood with an incredible voice (so uncommon, in fact, that Taylor was the first manufacturer to use it in a production model guitar, although in-the-know single builders had been using it for a while). Lutz spruce is a hybrid between White spruce and Sitka spruce that only grows in the Alaskan panhandle and central British Columbia, and it exhibits what tonewood experts call “hybrid vigor.” This means that it is as stiff as Sitka spruce, but with the lower density of White spruce. So, 700 series guitars have lots of power, projection, and headroom while remaining responsive and articulate. As a result of its tonewood, the 214ce-RED DLX sings out loud and proud with a rich, sonorous voice. They also play easy like Sunday morning thanks to Taylor's commitment to comfortable feel, and--as always--their build quality is top-notch because of their precision-engineered manufacturing process.
What sets the 214ce-RED DLX apart, however, is its striking cosmetic appointments. As its name implies, the 214ce-RED DLX places a stunning red finish on center stage, and it is positively glorious. It also features a gloss top, an elegant bound body, stylish small diamond fingerboard inlays, and a deluxe Taylor hardshell case.
The Taylor 214ce-Red DLX makes a statement with its sound and its personality, which makes for quite an inspiring playing experience. Once you take it for a spin, we're sure you'll be amazed by both its visual flair and sonic horsepower.
