I decided to sell this unique EBS 1250, Custom, from 70-72; It's a piece of history, but don't make mistake, she's a killer instrument...
According to several resources, production of these stopped in 1968 and restarted in 1977. The serial number dates between '70-'72 and the pickup covers (which have never been removed) have an embossed Gibson emblem which was only done from '71-'72.
This is almost definitely a bass that sat around in the factory for a couple years and was assembled in '71 or '72. Only 22 were made in total between '58 and '67. There is no record of one being shipped in '71-'72, so this was almost definitely a special order from during the era when they were not being made.
Body: Solid Mahogany body, Black finish
Neck: Two mahogany necks with a Rosewood fretboards, dot inlays. Factory second bass neck.
Pickups/Hardware: Two
Humbuckers for 6 string guitar, 1 large bass humbucker in neck and 1
bass mini-humbucker in bridge position of the bass.
Cosmetic Condition: Very clean with a few dings. This one has Gibson embossed on the pickup covers.
Modifications: The tuners on the guitar side have been replaced with extra holes left behind. There are extra holes around the pickup areas, probably from having other pickup rings at some point. There are three extra holes and a foot print of a repro bridge underneath the bass bridge, but the current bridge installed is original.
