Get those prized vinyl records ready! I have a treat for you! Its an absolutely badass vintage turntable here for sale. Made in the USA in the late 70’s to early 80’s, it was sold in RadioShacks as an upper end turntable. It retailed at 299$ back then which equates to 997$ worth of purchasing power in the current economy!
It’s got a beautiful aesthetic walnut grained vinyl wrap and super cool paddle switches to operate most of its controls. It all still works perfectly too! It’s chunky, solid platter with layers of grooves at varying spaces give an optical illusion of reverse spinning at certain levels on it—super fun. Equipped with a Shure R1000 EDT Cartridge and appropriate stylus. Two speeds with fine adjustment knobs, up to 5 programmable repeats, and a classy arm up/down paddle switch provide quite a few “bells and whistles” for this product. Just look at that sweet stainless steel curved tone arm and tell me you don’t wanna throw a record on right now. Just Google this model and look at any audiophile forums talking about it and if I haven’t convinced you yet, they sure will.
Unfortunately, the bottom edges have pushed up a bit in some areas, and the hinge springs have broken the plastic (doesn’t affect much). The cover has a few scratches and scuffs as well but pressure fits into the hinges as it should. All are shown in the pictures and accounted for in the cost. Let me know if you’ve got any other questions or want more photos! It’s the cheapest listed!
From maker:
The Realistic LAB-420 precision direct drive turntable is designed to meet the high standards of performance that audiophiles expect for superior sound reproduction of their disc recordings.
The turntable employs a powerful brushless DC servo motor for unwavering, near-perfect speed. The stroboscope with bright neon lamp makes speed adjustment precise and very easy.
The S-shaped tone arm keeps the stylus of the cartridge perpendicular to the radius of the groove over the full surface of the record, which means low distortion and excellent tracking at less than 1.5 grams.
