Vintage 1950's Leedy & Ludwig Red Sparkle Bass Drum 14 x 20
Amazing sounding bass drum. Has a wonderfully precise and lively tone. Can be very resonant or dampened to produce a full and focused punch. Quite versatile and great for the studio. It won't be easy to part with this one but I have to make room.

Wrap is in very good condition with marks appropriate for its age. Black paint on hoops is chipping, but only adds to the vintage charm in my opinion. Lugs look pretty good with a fine natural aged patina. T-rods showing a charming dark oxidized natural patina. Vanishing spurs work great, very sturdy. Has what appears to be the original resonant head. Beater head is modern with lots of life in it. White paint on the in interior looks great with some minor staining. Interior rings remain true and without warping or separation. No extra holes.

Originally purchased in Portland, Oregon at Revival in 2008.
