This is the reissue of the m-117, before it turned to the red circuit board with dual battery doors- this one requires 18v and has no battery option - it also has a green circuit board which along with the flatter graphic style is what seems to distinguish the early and more current reissues. I wish I could tell you what chip was inside, because I can't tell and all I know is it sounds stellar. This is the most fun I can have with a flanger except for the a/da which is why I'm letting it go, and the 18v requirement is inconvenient sometimes. I have an adapter and knob tops available upon request- I'd prefer to keep them if you don't want them so please let me know.
I love that this can truly sound like a beautiful chorus, whereas a mistress style flanger doesn't hit the same mark for me. It also does the evh thing which I've only come close to on the Subdecay flangers, so far. It has the necessary controls for a proper flanger and it teaches you how they work. I love most that it can sound a bit like a phase 90 when turned down slow and deep, it also has a rubberband like turn in the flange at the more counter clockwise range of the manual control, sounds awesome- also don't forget it can do a fixed / notch filter with the range at minimum. The speed gets fast enough for that leslie impersonation but it doesn't go into audiorate lfo craziness.
Some things I'll comment on for the buyer, is that this is an older pedal, the knobs can scratch and little at times, but are easy to clean or 'twist' out if it's just a bit of dust I suppose. But that, along with the chipping exterior and such - it's in rougher shape by some standards but I think quite well kept for the age.
