The Bach "Philly" C Trumpet is designed around many of the same characteristics that made the Chicago C so famous, but with a standard weight hand-hammered bell for a darker rich tone. Based on an original Vincent Bach design from 1947, this trumpet uses a special #25 lead pipe and a #229 yellow brass bell with a classic French bead flat rim. The pairing of these two features, as well as a large .462" bore and narrow main tuning slide, provides outstanding projection, capitalizing on the right amount of resistance many players look for in a C trumpet.
To improve resonance even further, the Philly Strad C trumpet uses narrower braces at the bell to valve casing and valve casing to lead pipe connections. Widefoot bell to lead pipe braces provides extra strength for those players worrying about durability. Bach's C180PC also features a 1st slide thumb ring for easier real-time tunning adjustments. The Bach Philadelphia Series C Trumpet includes a case and a 7C mouthpiece and comes only in a silver-plated finish.
