Rodebald Hoyer Jazzstar, an actual hand-carved solid wood archtop boutique  luxury German made jazz guitar from 1961. As with all vintage instruments there are some cosmetic issues - dings - scratches -  which add up to the character of the instrument. Original tuners are long gone and there are several additional holes as the who ever had the guitar before me had put a set of classic tuners on the guitar ... There's an old - most likely before I was born - fixed glued heel joint  but solid as a rock. The guitar must have had several different pick-guards before guitar got to me. I never got to CNC one for it but if you are interested I will drop in a tortoise pick-guard plate and you can  make your own.  The neck can be easily removed and the guitar has the original Stauffer Screw that binds the body and neck together. The tortoise "fancy" binding  is all original as well as the nut . The neck binding and inserts on the neck and headstock are also original. The frets look like the guitar has not seen much playing, before I got it,  but was rather used as a display piece. I put 100 or so hours of playing into it as I play other guitars much more. The angle of the thick round and straight as arrow neck is perfect and the guitar produces a typical, loud German jazz tone with pronounced undertones and good sustain. I used it with Vintage 60s DeArmond Rhythm Chief 1100 pickup and it was spectacular. I am not selling the pickup as I use it on other archtop - so skip  asking about it. Repro DeArmonds are available and sound just as good.  if you ask me the guitar is a real "Rockabilly poser" with a twist that it can actually be played  sounding good at the same time. The dark sunburst finish is all original and untouched thus you will be able to see the wood grain through the lacquer. No cracks in the body and I took good care about humidifying though the thickness of the solid wood - sides, top bottom is such that I don't see this body being affected easily. The guitar was hanging in the studio where we regularly control the humidity. All in all - a perfect 61 year old ready for the next player ... Feel free to contact me if you need additional photos or info.
