This Mustang came with the slab board which was pretty rare because it seems fender has made slab board from september 1965 till the start of january 1966.

Late 1965 or very early 1966 Fender Mustang completely original. Some wear on the body and neck but quite in good shape for a 56 years old guitars. This mustang play and sound great and the frets are still playing great without choking on the high frets when you bend the strings but will need a refret eventually since they are quite low at 0.66mm.

Ship with an 1970's Fender hardshell case.

Product Overview
Introduced just before the CBS takeover of Fender, the Mustang was part of a redesign of Fender's line of student level guitars which included the Duo-sonic and Musicmaster. The Mustang offered somewhat more sophisticated electronics than earlier student guitars and also featured a 24-inch scale length. In its earliest era, the Mustang was available in a shorter 22 1/2-inch scale length, but these guitars are very uncommon. Since being discontinued in 1982, the Mustang has been reissued a number of times, and has found some popularity among alternative and indie rock players.

Years of Production:
 1964 - 1982
