Why oh WHY are folks paying insane prices for plywood Gib. 175's when you can have a solid carved Spruce top Guild with a floating DeArmond pickup??? (keeps me up at night)
This lovely 1969 Guild has that solid carved Spruce top/ DeArmond setup. The tuners are upgraded to Schallers with purty buttons. The original hard case is included. It's in remarkably fine condition, with no buckle rash nor smoke odor. Nice & light & lively. We "skimmed" the frets with our handy Dandy Plek machine, merely to eliminate some fret grooves, resulting in a superb playing, excellent sounding US crafted Archtop instrument.......that won't deplete your bank account. She will require a re-fret at next fret dress, but your good to go for many tunes at this time. Really plays smooth.
The bright, shiny lacquer finish has a slight dull area on the lower bout where your arm touches. Other than some minimal finish swirls, that's about it. Includes a special cable for the old fashioned pickup type. The pickup was nicely installed at some point and really sounds great! This is a fine Geetar.
