This ultra-rare instrument was purchased by my Grandmother in 1960 at my Father's friend's garage sale along with a Gibson amplifier which is long gone.
It is a family heirloom that has been passed down in my family since 1960.
Appraised by George Gruhn in 2017 (see attached photo). Parts additionally verified as original by Normans Rare Guitars in California also in 2017.
This is a short-scale Les Paul Junior.  The tuner buttons are beginning to break down (not pictured). The tuner buttons will need to be replaced if you intend to play it.
The tone of this guitar is madness.
The Vintage Guitar Magazine Front Cover Photo that shows a similar looking 1953 production year Les Paul Junior is a full-scale Junior.
Note: Do not to confuse the VGM pictured instrument with this guitar. The magazine photo represents a previously owned 1953 Les Paul Junior that Mr. Gruhn had documented and sold.
So, as far as anyone can tell for now, there is only one full scale and one short scale 1953 Les Paul Junior known to exist at this time.
