Rickenbacker 1997 Pearl White 12 string!
In 2012 Rickenbacker made a limited run of 10 instruments, finished in a metallic flake Pearl White colour. They were 6 string instruments designated as model 1997PW (short for Pearl White). Utilising the highly resonant C63 "X" braced body, these were for the UK market only. This instrument was converted to a 12 string by William Young Guitars in France. He routed the headstock to accommodate the extra 6 strings, sprayed to match the colour, changed the nut and bridge and hey presto, it was done. So a fairly simple job. It plays beautifully, with a nice low action. The trapeze tailpiece, "stubby" truss rod cover, dot inlayed neck, gold guards give it a kind of retro chic Pete Townshend, early WHO feel. It comes with original hardshell case and case candy.
