VINTAGE 1980 FENDER 'THE STRAT' PROTOTYPE
This guitar is extraordinary in that it was the first one made, the prototype (Serial #E) created for NAMM 1980 was never intended for sale, thus no standard serial number. It was also the guitar photographed for Fender print advertising that year. It was purchased new at NAMM by an authorized dealer and has remained in the dealer private collection since then. This guitar has remained in the case and held in a guitar vault until now, never seeing the light of day. This is 1 of 2 prototypes, the other being the maple fingerboard version (also for sale.)
