The mad scientist behind Hunter Amplifiers does these conversions by hand, right here in Kentucky! This unique piece started life in 1937 as a Crosley Fiver tube radio, but now it is a Fender 5F2A Princeton tube amp for guitar! It sounds awesome, just like a Princeton should, and also doubles as a super cool decoration on your home, office, or studio! The original radio dial does light up and glow when the amp is "ON". Neat! You'll need to use an instrument cable with standard diameter ends, as the thicker 1/4" plugs on premium cables like Monster and Lava will not fit.
Notes from the builder:
Crosley Fiver. Accurate Princeton 5F2A circuit. Currently has vintage (the original?) 5Y3G rectifier tube and a vintage (original) 6K6G power tube. The 6K6G is a slightly lower power version of the 6V6G used in Fender's combos, but it worked better with the tiny speaker. The buyer could simply put a 6V6 in the amp and it would be a full power Princeton. It's just not necessary in that little cabinet. Original knobs, original chassis, and original power transformer.
