Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a classic and rare Turner P25D model dynamic microphone from the 1950's with a nice period Turner C-7 desk stand. This 25 series mic came either in a crystal or dynamic version. It was also offered in a painted body or polished chrome body. This mic comes with both the period stand and short cable shown.

Pic # 2 is of an old Turner catalog from 1949 showing this very model and it's basic specs and price.

This is the two tone painted version and it comes with the extremely rare "push to talk" on / off button on the front of the lower pistol grip. This model is so rare that I've only seen one other in the 9 years I've been doing this and if you are into scarcity...this is your mic. The P25D was ideal for broadcasting and paging purposes where you only wanted the mic live when pushing the button inward.

You rarely ever see these 25 series mics as they were a bit more expensive and only offered for a few short years. This is one of the most collectible of Turner mics with ultra modern styling for it's day and has a "War of the World" look to it. It's roughly the same size as the Turner 33D or 33X.

It should be noted that this P25D still has the original dynamic element inside of the housing. It does work extremely well and has omni-directional characteristics. It's set at High impedance and has a classic rockabilly tone to it. If that is the sound you are looking for then this mic will do the job nicely. This would also make an excellent display, or prop piece due to it's nice cosmetic condition.

As you can see the original painted finish is in very nice overall shape showing lite scratches and scuff marks but there are no dents, corrosion or engravings. The stainless steel screen shows zero dents. Just a few small spots of tarnish. The inner silk screen is free of any holes or rips. The Turner P25D badge shows almost no wear and completely legible. The "push to talk" button works perfectly. Mic is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The joint mechanism works flawlessly and the tension is adjustable. The threads for both the stand and cable are perfect. There is nothing loose on this mic what so ever. She's a real gem.

Also included is a nice 1950's era Turner C-7 model microphone desk stand. This is an all aluminum stand with a satin chrome finish and polished chrome stem / riser. This model was widely produced by Turner during the 1950's but was discontinued after about 10 years of production making these a bit hard to come by these days.  As you can see the stand thread itself has the 5/8 X 27 universal thread and any mic or mic clip will technically mate to the top of it.

This particular Turner stand has lite wear located on the rear as you can see. Some typical pitting but the stand is free of dents. The chrome stem is very nice. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide.

The original pad / rubber gasket is in excellent shape and will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic stand is appx 5 1/2 inches tall X 4 inches wide X 5 1/2 inches deep. The short stance of this stand makes it extremely stable and can be used on small, medium and larger mics.

With the mic and stand it's appx 10 1/2 inches tall.

The mic comes with a short vintage 9 inch cable that's soft, pliable and free of damage. It has a quality Switchcraft male XLR end connector. Simply attach any longer XLR cable of choice to the one provided for extra length. The short cable is balanced so you'll have zero issues. This combo is ready to go.

This P25D will make a great conversation piece anywhere it's used or sits in the home, studio or office.
