Packing a huge sound into a smaller-bodied "parlor" guitar with a distinctive solid mahogany top, this GS Mini delivers that famous Taylor tone and quality.

Punchy Mahogany -- Built to Travel
Since its release in 2012, the Taylor GS Mini Mahogany acoustic guitar has proven to be even hotter than the original Taylor GS Mini. As the name suggests, the guitar's top is solid mahogany. This not only imparts a different look to the instrument, but a distinctly different voice as well. Mahogany is a slightly harder wood than the Sitka spruce that appears on the standard GS Mini, which means that mahogany has a punchier, more forthright tone. It also means that the guitar will develop and "play in" a little more slowly. Apart from that, the mahogany GS Mini has all the proportions and design features that made the original Taylor GS Mini a runaway success.

Not Quite The Smallest Axe in the Line
The Taylor GS Mini acoustic guitar was designed to deliver a sound that far exceeds its small stature. Size-wise, the Taylor GS Mini is the next-to-smallest in the Taylor family: the Baby Taylor is a touch smaller than the GS Mini, while the Big Baby is just a touch larger. The GS Mini is no "middle child," however -- it's an instrument with a distinctive voice that you'll never describe as "miniature." It's a go-anywhere "parlor guitar" that you may find just as useful in the studio as you do in informal live situations.

Great Materials: This Mini Will Probably Outlive You
The Taylor GS Mini Mahogany acoustic guitar has a solid mahogany top that yields a punchy, burly tone. The body and sides are made out of strong, durable layered sapele. The sapele neck has a slightly shorter 23.5-inch scale, and is fitted with a true ebony fingerboard. The neck is a proprietary Taylor NT neck, which is milled along with the neck pocket in an completely unique way. By utilizing spacers fitting into precision-milled pockets, the guitar neck is able to adapt better to microscopic changes and warpings that naturally occur in all wood over time, due to factors like humidity and temperature change. Additionally, this means that your Taylor guitar's neck will be more precisely adjustable throughout its whole life, and can be restored to its original setup specifications, or your tastes, at any time.

Nothing Small About The Sound
The GS body has a gently rounded back with a depth of 4.4375 inches, which plays a major factor in the surprisingly powerful voice and throw this guitar has. Don't expect that it will lack low-end oomph, though -- it has plenty. It also has a 20-fret neck, with open frets up through the 14th. 5mm dot inlays bedeck the fretboard, while high-quality die-cast chrome tuners keep your intonation tight. A handsome tortoise pickguard does what it's supposed to do.

Electrifies Easily
Taylor's innovation doesn't stop with acoustic guitars. The GS Mini Mahogany is ready for you to add one of Taylor's ES-Go pickup systems with the simple click of a clip. Sold separately, the ES-Go is a totally proprietary magnetic soundhole pickup that grew out of Taylor's much celebrated original Expression System. If you're thinking about plugging your GS Mini in, you're also going to probably want to get a V-Cable: a professional-grade quarter-inch instrument cable with a built-in volume control. This brilliant configuration allows you to add a great, fully-functional pickup to the GS Mini when you want, but keep your true acoustic otherwise free of hardware or control knobs.
