Well, the pix pretty much explain it. Someone long ago got hold of a 1956 (first year) Fender Musicmaster, changed the body shape, and put a homebrew mando neck on and painted it hillbilly pink over the original desert sand finish. Since I know about 3 mando chords better let a real player have it.
YES we did sell off the parts of this HACKED Musicmaster so tweaky vintage Fender dudes can restore their hi-$ Telecasters and Stratocasters. Neck plate/screws, pickup, knobs, wiring harness all sold off. Pickup is now a Lace Strat style thing.
It got new
mando
tuners. Original mando pickup was this little thing – maybe a DeArmond
but it
literally crumbled into piece so replacement is a little thinbucker at
around 7K . Also being a non adjustable neck (mando) it doesn't fret
well over the 12th fret.
Original (worn) black metal guard was cut so it’s still on, bridge and saddles are original, and neck w/ kool 4/56 pencil date is totally original except for new tuner buttons to replace originals which were toast. Tuners are original and decal is perfect.
Has what I think is original case, altho part of one end had been cut out but we fixed it best we could.
So if you like hillbilly homebrew doublenecks…. have at it.
