Analog optical phasor joy. If you look theres 2 circles of optical sensors surrounding a light. This set up gives wetness inducing swirling goodness. You can also play mellow on it and just add a little character but the idea is to get lost in space playing with this thing.. thats why i painted it like planet earth.. to keep you grounded.... the knobs do things... look up the Mu tron Duo Phase, thats what this is based on. Sick quality for the price. ...

I wonder what chat gpt has to say about it??

Duo Phasor — Dual Analog Phaser | Hand-Built Boutique Pedal

Two phasers, one box, and a whole lot of personality.

Some pedals are happy to sit quietly in your signal chain. The Duo Phasor isn't necessarily one of them.

Inspired by the legendary Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, this hand-built analog pedal combines two independent phasers into one wonderfully versatile machine. From gentle, rolling sweeps and warm vintage movement to deep, liquid swirls and downright strange psychedelic textures, there's plenty of territory to explore.

It's equally happy adding a little shimmer to your clean guitar or turning a simple riff into something that sounds like it came from another planet.

And with two phasers working together, things can get interesting in a hurry.

Famous Use

The original Mu-Tron Bi-Phase earned its reputation during the golden age of analog effects, becoming a favorite among adventurous musicians and studio experimenters.

- Lee "Scratch" Perry: Dub production full of swirling effects and unusual sonic textures.

- Stevie Wonder: The lush, expressive world of vintage analog modulation.

- The Smashing Pumpkins: Thick, psychedelic guitar textures associated with the classic Bi-Phase sound.

The Duo Phasor carries on that tradition of making ordinary sounds a little more extraordinary.

Control Layout

Two Phasers, Twice the Fun

Each phaser has its own controls, so you can dial in two completely different personalities.

- Rate: From a lazy, rolling sweep to a fast, churning wobble.

- Depth: Adjusts how far the phaser travels through its sweep.

- Feedback: Adds resonance and character, taking the effect from smooth and mellow to rich and pronounced.

Each section also has its own footswitch and indicator LED.

Sweep and Synchronization

Here's where the Duo Phasor gets clever.

The center switches control how the two phasers interact.

- Sweep: Lets Phaser B follow its own oscillator or share Phaser A's sweep.

- Sync: Changes the relationship between the two sweeps, allowing normal or reversed movement when linked.

You can have the two phasers moving independently, traveling together, or sweeping in opposite directions.

It's a surprisingly entertaining little rabbit hole.

Special Features

Four Jacks, Plenty of Possibilities

The independent audio connections let you incorporate the two phasers into different parts of your signal chain.

Run one before your overdrive and the other after. Experiment with separate signal paths. Or patch them together for cascading waves of modulation.

Sometimes the best sounds happen when you stop following the rules.

Hand-Built and Individually Tuned

Inside is a substantial analog circuit featuring multiple TL072 dual operational amplifiers and individually adjustable calibration trimmers.

This isn't a tiny digital processor pretending to be an old phaser. It's an honest-to-goodness analog machine, assembled and tested by hand.

A One-of-a-Kind Enclosure

The custom enclosure features a weathered mixture of earthy greens, bronze, dark blue, and metallic textures.

Premium knurled aluminum knobs, metal toggle switches, and solid hardware complete the look.

It's a little industrial, a little vintage, and entirely its own thing.

No two finishes are exactly alike.

The Science Behind the Sound

A phaser works by shifting the phase of selected frequencies, then mixing that shifted signal back with the original. The resulting cancellations create moving notches in the frequency spectrum.

That's the wonderful, swooshing sound we know and love.

The Rate controls determine how quickly those notches move. Depth shapes the movement of the sweep, while Feedback emphasizes the cancellations and gives the effect its distinctive resonant character.

Now put two of those circuits together, give them independent controls, and allow their oscillators to interact.

You get a remarkable range of movement, from subtle vintage coloration to complex, constantly evolving textures.

And because it's analog, there's something particularly satisfying about hearing all those components doing their little dance.
