Up for sale is a used JL-marked Bb clarinet in very good cosmetic condition, featuring a classic black body, silver-tone keywork, decorative monogram markings, and a protective hard case with blue plush interior.

IMPORTANT: The clarinet is missing its barrel (the connecting piece between the mouthpiece and upper joint). A replacement barrel will be required to assemble and play the instrument properly.

Condition Details

This clarinet is in very good overall cosmetic condition, showing normal signs of previous use and handling.

• Body: The black finish presents well overall, with some light surface scratches, scuffs, and handling marks visible throughout the instrument.
• Keys and Metal Hardware: The silver-tone keywork shows noticeable tarnishing, oxidation, discoloration, and surface wear in several areas, particularly around the key levers, rods, and metal fittings.
• Bell: The bell is in good cosmetic shape, with minor surface marks and light scratches. The metal bell ring shows some discoloration and wear.
• Cork Connections: The visible corks show signs of previous use, including some discoloration and compression. Their sealing condition has not been verified.
• Key Pads: Pads are present on the visible keywork, but their sealing condition and remaining service life have not been professionally evaluated.
• Markings: Decorative "JL" monogram markings are visible on multiple sections of the instrument.
• Serial/Identification Numbers: The numbers 21231165 and 21231313 are visible on the instrument.
• Mouthpiece and Ligature: A black mouthpiece with metal ligature is included. Both show signs of previous use, including wear and discoloration on the metal components.
• Hard Case: Includes a black protective hard case with blue plush interior. The case shows cosmetic wear, scuffs, scratches, and residue from an older exterior label. The interior lining shows areas of discoloration, impressions, and general wear from storage and use.

This clarinet may be suitable for someone looking for a replacement-barrel project, a student instrument to complete, or an instrument for restoration.

Please carefully review all photos for the exact cosmetic condition, included components, and visible signs of wear. The item pictured is the exact instrument you will receive.
