Three-piece shell pack in a red-to-amber sunburst lacquer, restored by the late Johnny "C" Craviotto, the Santa Cruz builder who later founded Craviotto Drums. His shop label ("Johnny C's Drum Shop, custom drum building and restoration, Santa Cruz, CA") is still inside the rack tom. The label carries a (408) area code, which Santa Cruz used until 1998, so the restoration dates from before then.

Sizes

• 8x12 rack tom (RIMS-style suspension mount)
• 14x14 floor tom (RIMS-style suspension mount with clamp-on legs)
• 16x20 bass drum (wood hoops with metal inlay, spurs, tom-mount plate)

Shells: 6-ply maple-type shells with a gray "silver sealer" interior, wood bass drum hoops, and construction consistent with late-1970s to 1980s Gretsch. The original badges and interior labels were removed during the restoration, so the brand can't be confirmed by badge or serial number. Priced accordingly.

History: The floor tom started life as a mounted tom and was converted with a suspension mount and legs. The mounted tom had its bracket removed and was converted to suspended too.

Condition: Vintage player-grade kit with honest wear:

• Lacquer chips and scratches on all three shells
• Floor and mounted tom tom has open holes and where the original brackets were mounted. Kick drum hoop is especially worn where the kick pedal mount… Chips and a small cracks. Been that way a long time.
• Paint wear and chips on the kick's wood hoops
• Normal chrome wear on the lugs and claws
• Batter heads are worn
