Up for sale is a classic, end-of-an-era 1981 Fender Silverface Champ in Very Good cosmetic and fully functional condition.

This is the genuine, hand-wired, single-ended AA764-style circuit from the final chapter of the traditional Fullerton era, before the Rivera redesigns. Compact, touch-sensitive, and delivering the signature Fender sparkle at manageable volumes, this amp is completely dialed in, serviced, and ready to plug in and play.

Key Details & Maintenance:

·Freshly Replace Filter Can: Recently upgraded with a brand-new multi-section can capacitor. It runs whisper-quiet, tight low-end filtering, and excellent dynamics.

·Transformers & Chassis: Original Schumacher output transformer stamped 606-140 (40th week of 1981), paired with original factory power transformer and matching chassis stamp 43932.

·Upgraded Speaker: Loaded with an Eminence 8" speaker, which is a significant tonal upgrade over the often thin, farty original late-era Oxford speakers. It offers punchier lows, smoother midrange break-up, and more usable clean headroom.

Condition:

Rated Very Good. The tolex, faceplate, and cabinet show honest, minor wear consistent with a 45-year-old vintage amp, but no structural issues, tears, or abuse. A previous owner drilled an approximately 3/8-inch hole in the back chassis for reasons unknown to me. The circuit board is clean, components are in spec, and all controls sweep cleanly with no scratchiness.
