The MEINL Turbo Cabasas are a superb innovation with significantly more volume than normal cabasas. This added projection comes from sound ports located in the resonating chamber that allows a crisp, full tone to come from the instrument. The Turbo Cabasas bring the classic cabasa sound to a new level that will cut through any sonic environment. MEINL cabasas are equipped with a stainless steel ribbed cylinder with stainless steel beads and a padded wooden handle for a soft grip. These percussion instruments may be played in a variety of ways from scratching the beads over the cylinder and spinning the cylinder to create a sustained rattle. Great for both live performances and studio recordings, MEINL Turbo Cabasas come in three sizes: small, medium and large.

Features:

PATENTED SOUND PORT DESIGN: circular sound ports in the body of the cabasa give you more volume, projection, and an extra-crisp sound; made for live and studio

WHY IT MATTERS: it takes less effort to be heard, so you're more relaxed while playing and can lock-in with the groove; plus, the sound carries easily to cut through the mix even when not mic'ed

HOW IT WORKS: rub, shake, spin, or tap the stainless steel beaded chain with your hand to get different sounds; behind the chain is a stainless steel ribbed cylinder that produces the classic raspy cabasa effect

OF NOTE: the chains aren't too lose or too tight so the beads move easily; their fluid motion allows you to be more expressive and accurate because you're not dealing with too much friction

ZOOM IN: the body (or chamber) is made of durable hardwood for warm tone, and the handle is padded with soft foam for comfort and control

BY THE NUMBERS: this medium size version measures 8 1/2" L x 4 1/8" W and weighs 0.9 lbs; the pitch gets higher as size gets smaller and lower as you go up in size

THE BOTTOM LINE: this is a professional, versatile, and controllable cabasa that works in any venue or studio; it's easy to get a great sound and is a fantastic addition to your percussion collection
