Complete Your System - The ADAM Audio Sub8 PRO Studio Subwoofer

An advanced DSP-based feature set and outstanding acoustic performance make the Sub8 PRO an ideal foundation for compact monitoring systems. Part of Adam Audio's modern range of networked subwoofers, the Sub8 PRO features a high-excursion 8” woofer, FEA-optimized bass reflex port and powerful class D amplifier. The backplate of the Sub8 PRO highlights its professional, feature-rich nature. It offers comprehensive phase and crossover controls, digital input and output via AES3, balanced analog input and output via XLR and TRS, plus a footswitch input to activate or bypass bass management. The ethernet port enables a multitude of management and calibration tools for the Sub8 PRO via ADAM Control, the included application for networked ADAM Audio products. The subwoofer can be manually time aligned and calibrated across 4 bands of parametric EQ, and calibration profiles from Sonarworks can be uploaded directly to an integrated platform. Firmware updates are also managed via ADAM Control which allows future functionality to be added to the subwoofer. In addition to Stereo mode for conventional use, the Sub8 PRO features two operational modes that were designed with immersive audio in mind. The dedicated LFE mode is suited to mixing in Dolby Atmos, while the Wide option allows the sub to play full range. All this technology is contained within a robust wooden cabinet while the woofer is protected by a solid metal grille. The Sub8 PRO comes with a 2-year warranty that can be extended to 5-years upon product registration.

ADAM Control

ADAM Control is the calibration and management platform for all networked ADAM Audio products. The extensive tuning and phase controls of the Sub8 PRO can be attenuated remotely and in real time over Ethernet. Once downloaded and installed, you can control multiple subwoofers and A Series monitors at once, precisely adjusting equalization, and delay settings from various listening positions in your studio space. ADAM Control also facilitates firmware updates, allowing new features to be added to the Sub8 PRO over time.

Automated Room Correction via Sonarworks

The Sub8 PRO is designed to complement ADAM Audio’s Sonarworks-ready, award-winning line of A Series monitors. It features a platform on the subwoofer’s DSP that can host advanced filters created in SoundID Reference. Using Sonarworks and a measurement mic, you can calibrate stereo and multichannel A Series and Sub8 PRO systems with ease.

High-Performance Woofer

The heart of the Sub8 PRO is its high-excursion, low-distortion woofer. Made from a fiber-reinforced paper material, the cone is further strengthened by an elasticated rubber surround that permits considerable excursion while maintaining its mechanical design. The precision geometry of the ferrite magnet system is completed by demodulation rings which stabilize voice coil inductance. The considered design of the woofer extends to the advanced ventilation of all moving parts to minimize unwanted noise.

Digital Connectivity

AES3 is a professional standard for transmitting digital audio between interfaces and loudspeakers. Both the AES3 input and output connectors on the Sub8 PRO can carry 2 channels of digital audio up to 24-bit resolution and sample rates of 96 kHZ. By maintaining signal in the digital domain fewer conversions are required and higher quality audio can be transmitted over longer distances.
