Akai MPC 2000 XL sold as "fixer upper" or parts. This was part of a large synth collectors local set up. Most of the items we are keeping, some we have no need for.. like this, we are selling.. Here is what we know...
Screen needs to be replaced.
8 Output expansion was taken out at some point. BUT Audio out and Sampling In jacks work great.
I used my memory on using MPCs to test it without using the screen. And It DOES sample and sound fine.. I was able to sample and land that sample on ALL pads.. and ALL pads triggered that sample.. so those work.
ALL the buttons work.. but there are a couple that need a harder press.
There is NO slider.. as shown in pics.
I did NOT test the Zip drive as I do not have a Zip disk.. so consider that when buying.
Otherwise. it looks good. Install a slider and new screen and you should be great as long as ZIP works.. or install an SD card reader.. they have gotten cheaper.. Or use this one as a parts machine.
