Vintage U-87 made in 1967, in perfect working condition and sounding AMAZING. I bought this microphone last month from a gentleman in Munich, Germany. He used to work in TV and Radio and had his own production company at some point. The mic was tested and it sounds exactly how a vintage 87 should sound: incredibly large and detailed. Smoother in the top end than our 87Ai. Something about the midrange on these mics is very beautiful. (It also sounds completely identical to the other 1969 U87 we bought that day, which we are keeping.)
This mic has a red dot next to the serial number which means it has been wired for 50 Ohms. I believe this mic was retrofitted with an XLR connector at some point, because that generation shipped with tuchel connectors. Serial number 9449.
The mic looks very worn and the tails on the pad and roll-off switches are broken off - see photo - but the switches still work. Pattern switching also works perfectly. I can send audio files of the mic on kick drum and vocals.
The Microphone comes with the original swivel mount which looks super cool. No box or paperwork included. It will be very very well packaged and shipped with insurance. You're welcome to inspect and test this microphone in our studio in Brooklyn NY.
