This started life as a 68' Custom Vibrolux Reverb I took in on trade. It's now an amp that Fender never offered, basically a 35 watt Deluxe Reverb with a single 12" speaker. This is a great sounding amp with plenty of clean headroom. The speaker is a great match for this circuit and sounds good new, right out of the box. After break in, it will sound fantastic. This thing nails the clean/crunchy country with a Tele!
I did the following modifications:
Neaten up the circuit lead dress.
New Heyboer 8 ohm 40 watt output transformer upgrade
New 12" speaker baffle, I only use grade A Baltic Birch (see photo)
New ToneSpeak Austin 1250 12" 50 watt speaker
New Tung Sol 6L6GC STR power tube upgrade
I just wanted to do something different with this. There's plenty of 2x10 VR's out there. I build amps from scratch so it's all done correctly and it's in like new condition.
