The Clean knob mixes in a parallel clean signal that emphasizes the low end while reducing disruptive mids and highs, helping your bass retain its weight and definition as the distortion gets heavier. Depth adjusts the low end within the distorted signal itself, so you can tighten things up for lower tunings or add more thickness to a standard-tuned bass. The tilt-style Tone control, centered around 600Hz, provides another way to shape the distortion without getting lost in a complicated EQ.
