You're looking at a Telefunken W689 Stereo Panpot module in very good cosmetic and working condition. It came from a lot that I picked up a few years ago and never used any of them. I'm moving and its time to clean house. I'm selling it for a low $180 with free ship. US only.
Thanks for looking!
From a review I found online:
The Telefunken W689 (also associated with ANT/Neumann designs) is a vintage German broadcast-era "Danner cassette" module functioning as a stereo panpot, panorama, and M/S (Mid-Side) stereo width/direction mixer. [1, 2, 3]Overview & Features
- Module Format: Standard Danner cassette B1-size module designed to fit into vintage German broadcast and mixing desks or custom 19-inch vintage racks. [1, 2]
- Core Functions:
- Acts as a stereo panorama/panpot controller.
- Can handle XY or M/S (Mid-Side) stereo encoding and decoding operations.
- Features stepped rotary switches to widen or narrow the stereo image field. [1, 2, 3]
- Power Requirement: Operates typically on a standard 24V single-rail DC power supply (common to Danner-style vintage broadcast gear like Siemens and Telefunken modules). [1]
User & Tech Impressions (Gearspace & Community Reviews)
- Build & Quality: Built like a tank with heavy-duty precision mechanical switches and vintage German broadcast-grade construction. [1, 2]
- Sound Character: Like other vintage transformer-coupled broadcast modules from that era, it imparts a slight, musical weight and presence to the signal rather than acting as a completely transparent, sterile modern digital panner. [1]
