Playability & Build

The 1.6" nut width and refined Lakland neck taper create a fast, comfortable fretting experience across the 22-fret, 34" scale fingerboard. Construction combines an ash body with quilted maple top, flat-sawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement, and Indian laurel fingerboard; the 10" fingerboard radius with measured neck depths of .77" at the 1st fret and .87" at the 12th deliver a consistent, playable profile. Hipshot Ultralite tuners and a Lakland Dual Access bridge (switchable between through-body and bridge stringing) provide both stability and versatility.

Tone & Electronics

The Lakland LH3 preamp and MM-J pickup configuration—both wound in Lakland's Chicago shop and identical to USA Series specs—deliver articulate lows, defined mids, and present highs. A three-band EQ with cut and boost controls for bass, midrange, and treble, combined with panning-style pickup blend and 3-way bridge coil tap, provides precise tone shaping; the master volume includes a pull-for-bypass function to disengage the preamp entirely for passive operation.
