Used Tama Rockstar 12x10 Rack Tom - Black (Circa 1988)

This used Tama Rockstar 12x10 rack tom dates to approximately 1988 and features a classic black wrap finish. Part of Tama's popular late-1980s Rockstar drum series, this vintage power tom delivers a full, punchy sound with strong projection and controlled sustain. Its 12x10 dimensions make it an excellent option for players restoring a vintage Tama Rockstar drum kit or looking for original replacement parts.

The 1980s Tama Rockstar series featured original 9-ply plywood shell construction with Tama's protective Zola-Coat interior. Developed to help protect drum shells from humidity changes, Zola-Coat also contributes to the focused, controlled tonal character associated with these vintage Tama drums.

This particular vintage Tama Rockstar rack tom has damage to both bearing edges, including dents, dips, and slight ply separation along one edge. Despite these imperfections, the drum remains playable and still produces a good sound. It would make an affordable addition to an existing Rockstar kit, a restoration project, or a source of original Tama drum parts and hardware.
