Mica-sonic Electronic Bongos / Congas / Wood Block 1970s - Natural
Here they are... one of the rarest species on planet music ...
The MICA SONIC ELECTRIC BONGOS
Yes, they sound incredible.
Yes, you hardly ever see them come up for sale.
Yes, who cares what the outside case looks like... because it's all about that sound.
But, yes, the outside case is indeed worn looking as you can see. Also has a humorously placed Yamaha logo, because correct me if I'm wrong, but Yamaha did not make these. Or, we all just discovered something we've probably never known before. The case does latch and work still as the case.
The MUTE buttons to my ears do nothing. I have heard these on another set and they hardly made a difference. But the way these sound, I wouldn't be complaining, because they sound great.
Every set of these I have ever heard, such as the other set we have here at our studio, and ones on YouTube all make a low white-noise-down-a-tube kind of sound. Someone said that is from the type of resistors they used in these.
I have attached a short simple video of me playing this exact device so you can hear it working.
So there we have it. Those are the disclaimers about these amazing bongos / congas. Thank you.
