Wuhan Flat Chau Gong 20" – Hybrid Design with Explosive Sound Character

This 20" Flat Chau gong from Wuhan combines the visual authenticity of traditional Chau craftsmanship with the practical flat profile of a Wind gong. The result is a hybrid percussion instrument that delivers explosive, dark tones with controlled overtones and quick decay—ideal for drummers seeking dramatic sonic impact without the weight of a standard Chau gong. The primitive, earthy aesthetic pairs perfectly with its modern performance characteristics, making it a versatile choice for rock, fusion, and experimental music applications.

The flatter construction reduces overall weight, making this gong significantly easier to transport to rehearsals and live performances compared to conventional Chau models. Whether you're looking to expand your gong collection or need a reliable, portable option for stage use, this instrument balances authentic sound quality with practical playability.
