A 1978 Fender Jazzmaster has arrived.
Fenderfs Jazzmaster guitar debuted in 1958. At a time when Gibson dominated the jazz scene, Leo Fender introduced the Jazzmaster, featuring a newly developed offset contoured body, Fenderfs first rosewood fingerboard neck, and a tremolo unit. Although it did not gain traction in the jazz scene initially, it later gained popularity through surf music and the alternative scene, eventually becoming one of Fenderfs signature models.
The guitar wefve just received is a 1978 model?from the final production run?featuring an ash body and black hardware.
It is equipped with original gray-bobbin pickups, and the neck?with its slightly thicker, solid shape?delivers a rich Jazzmaster tone.
The set screws on the bridge saddles have been replaced; while the electronics are original, there are some minor contact issues.
Overall, it shows signs of wear appropriate for its age?including scratches, dents, weather checking, discoloration, paint peeling, and other damage?but it retains a dignified, vintage-inspired appearance.
The frets have been dressed and have about 5 minutes of life remaining; the neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
