The Arcam Delta 60 is a stereo integrated amplifier designed and built in the UK by A&R Cambridge Limited in 1988. It delivers 50 watts per channel into 8Ω, with a MOSFET output stage chosen for its characteristically smooth sound profile. The signal path is built around a straight-wire philosophy - line-level inputs connect directly to the volume control, bypassing tone controls entirely to preserve dynamic range and minimise distortion, with THD rated at just 0.02% at full power. A dual friction-locked volume control replaces a conventional balance pot for tighter channel matching. The phono stage is notably well-specified, accommodating both MM and MC cartridges via DC-coupled stages with Op27 amplifiers, regulated supplies, and passive RIAA equalisation; MC users can further tune loading via an optional switchable ULM module. Inputs include CD, tuner, two tape loops, and the dual phono stage, with two tape outputs rounding out a flexible connection set. A mono switch operates across all inputs, useful for reducing noise on older vinyl or weak FM signals.
