Gibson Trini Lopez Std. 1964 - Red
This is one of the rarest production Gibsons there is. The Trini Lopez Standard was developed in late 1964 but not officially released until 65. Gibson wanted to get a few out before Christmas 64, so they designated ten of them for distribution to their most productive dealers. I've seen two 64's in 30 years as a dealer. You might say "so what...there are plenty of later ones and they're the same right?" Well, no. Only the 64's and the very early 65's have the big neck and wide nut. Only the 64's and the earliest 65's have all nickel parts including early patent number pickups (same as a PAF). A 64 335 will cost you around $40K. This will play nearly the same and sound the same for a little more than half that and you're getting a true rarity. The guitar is all original except for the saddles which have been changed to metal from the stock nylon. If you want nylon, I probably have a set I can swap in. This guitar is in 9/10 condition. It has the correct (and original) elongated Trini case in excellent condition. More photos coming soon.
