For sale is a late version of the Allen and Heath GSR-24m mixing console. The desk itself is in perfect cosmetic and functional condition, having been taken from a working environment only because I upgraded my console. The technology in this board is not new and is no longer supported by Allen and Heath, so it requires a number of workarounds to get its full potential in a modern environment. This is true for any listing of this console, but once those hurdles are overcome it is very functional (at least with ProTools) and it sounds good. Clean, but not clinical, with very flexible routing and musical EQs, and the tube channels are something I’m really going to miss. It is the version with motorized faders.

This console includes the FireWire / ADAT card, and I will include a usb to MIDI interface to allow it talk to your computer. As with any of these consoles, you will need to use a DAW that it talks to natively or else use a MIDI translator like BOME, which is what I was using. It will function as an interface, as a DAW controller, as a 24 channel analog mixing board, as an analog summing box, really it can be configured to augment your workflow however you need. I am marking this merely in “good” condition because the PSU is in fairly poor condition. Several of the screws holding it together were damaged before it got to me, maybe in shipping, and so it is held together, but only just. Once it is racked up there are no issues at all, but it is something that exists, so I am noting it here, and will add more pictures of that damage soon. It is perfectly functional, and I replaced the fan with a silent one which has drastically lowered the noise to be almost inaudible, and it allowed me to rack it in the mixing position without driving me crazy.

I will of course include any power cables, the MIDI to USB interface and any other relevant cords. I also have the manuals, which is a nice bonus so you don’t have to look them up. I also have a large number channels of insert snake which I will be listing separately, but which could be included for an additional charge.

I am not really interested in shipping this thing as it is very large and somewhat heavy, but if that is what we need to do, you will cover the costs, and you will need to contact me first so we can make arrangements before you purchase.

I am located in St. Louis, and am willing to make arrangements to meet in the Midwest if you are not too far away. It is being sold As-Is only because I don’t want to keep two massive consoles in my studio for any longer than I need to.
