Hayseed 30 Amplifier by Valvetech.
This is a point-to-point hand-wired, faithful recreation of a 1963 Vox AC 30 with a few upgrades. Vavletech amps we're all hand-built by Rob Pierce in Indiana until her retired. If you never heard of them, do.aome searching and you'll see they have an excellent reputation.
The amp has been heavily used, but is in great condition. I just had it serviced and had the power tubes replaced (EL84s). It sounds fantastic and providea that classic Vox sound that you would expect.
It has 2 channels which can be run independently or chained together (with a 1/4 in jumper).
The first channel has a selectable preamp setting for selection between preamp tubes:
- normal 12AX7
- bright 12AX7
- normal EF86
- bright EF86
The first channel bypasses the EQ.
The second channel uses an 12AX7 and uses the EQ controls.
I personally enjoyed it best bridging the 2 channels together and blending them using the bright EF86 on the first channel.
It includes ½ power switch to run at 30 or 15 watts, as well as a master volume knob on the back. (The original AC 30s didn't have master volumes. So they were impossible to break up without making them screamingly loud. With the master volume, you can crank the preamps into some lovely overdrive without pissing off the neighbors.)
