Akai AX60 6-voice analog synthesizer with upgraded Synthcraft wood side panels. Fully functional and sounding great.

Selling my Akai AX60, one of the more unique and underrated analog polysynths of the '80s. This one has also been upgraded with a set of Synthcraft wood sides, which look fantastic and give the synth a much more classic vintage appearance.

Functionally, the synth works great. It plays and sounds as it should, and I have not encountered any functional issues.

There is some cosmetic damage that I want to disclose clearly:

When the synth was originally shipped to me, it took an impact to the rear of the chassis. This left a dent in the back and caused a portion of the front panel around the display to sit slightly raised. Importantly, the impact did not cause any functional damage and the synth has continued to operate normally.

There are also various scratches, scuffs and other cosmetic signs of use consistent with a vintage instrument. Please look closely through the photos, as I've tried to show its condition accurately.

The Synthcraft wood sides were added afterward and make a huge difference aesthetically. There is also some minor cosmetic wear to the wood, visible in the photos.

Beyond the cosmetics, this is a seriously cool synth. The AX60 gives you six voices of genuine analog synthesis with VCOs, an aggressive resonant filter, chorus, unison, arpeggiator and a very hands-on interface. It can do warm analog pads and strings, but its real personality comes out when you push it into harsher, buzzy and more experimental territory.

It also has the unusual ability to interface with compatible vintage Akai samplers and route sampled sounds through the AX60's analog signal path.
