16nx Faderbank (RP2040 / 16n MkII) – 16-Channel CV / MIDI / I2C Controller

Up for sale is the 16nx Faderbank – the modern RP2040 hardware revision of the open-source 16n controller. Fully bench-tested, calibrated, and working 100%. Built with factory-assembled SMT circuitry, with all through-hole components (Alps faders and 3.5mm jacks) hand-soldered, inspected, and tested by an experienced builder. I use two of these in my own studio rig daily.

Simultaneous multi-format control

The 16nx outputs all three control standards simultaneously, making it an incredible bridge between Eurorack modular, standalone hardware, and computer workflows:

• CV: 16× 0–5V CV outputs (standard 3.5mm jacks)
• MIDI: Class-compliant USB-C MIDI and 3.5mm TRS MIDI (hardware switchable between Type A and Type B standards)
• I2C: Direct 3.5mm TRS connection for Monome Norns, Teletype, Orthogonal Devices ER-301, and compatible I2C bus systems

Hardware and build specs

• Faders: 16× high-spec Alps 60mm slide potentiometers – smooth, precise travel with excellent resistance.
• Custom low-profile stems: Fader shafts have been individually hand-trimmed so the caps sit close and flush to the front panel for a sleek, compact feel.
• Construction: Rigid matte-black sandwich PCB enclosure with brass hardware standoffs and non-slip rubber feet fitted to the base.
• Brain: Native RP2040 MCU running latest firmware with high-resolution 14-bit MIDI output support.
• Configuration: Effortless mapping via the official 16n browser-based web configuration tool (no coding or command line required).
